The Big Takeover premieres London-born, NYC-based dream pop artist and songwriter Imogen Valentine’s “Same Font Different Man” today, with a music video featuring Imogen. The song and video will be out everywhere tomorrow, September 9th. With a solid musical background as a Clive Davis Institute graduate, witty and relatable lyricism, and a memorable voice, Imogen is poised for a steady rise.
On the making of the song, Imogen says:
“I was having a conversation with a few friends about some of the similarities we’d noticed in the behavior of guys we’d dated. Even though each situation was uniquely different in so many ways, there were these common denominators and patterns that kept coming up. That’s where the concept was born. Even though the song is very real to me, I still wanted it to be tongue in cheek and fun, without veering into ‘all men are horrible’ territory because that’s not how I feel.”
Imogen graduated from NYU’s esteemed Clive Davis Institute with a BFA in Recorded Music and a minor in Spanish and was a recipient of the Abe Oleman Scholarship from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She made her musical debut with the 2024 EP, Ouch!, followed by her sophomore EP, Little Miss Optimist (2026), which has already surpassed 200,000 organic streams. She will have more coming from her artist project this year.
