After issuing their Funky Head EP in 2009 on Captured Tracks, Brooklyn/Queens band Beachniks, featuring members of German Measles and Crystal Stilts, have finally released their first music video for a special instrumental party mix of “Romeo Chang,” originally off of their self-released debut full-length, In Color, from earlier this year.
Painstakingly animated by Daniel Fetherston, the video is a hypnotizing array of color and shapes; a visualization of the band’s own music, perfectly describing their sound better than anything else. According to the band, “From the Harlem Shake to the WTC, featuring collages by Carmelle Safdie [the band’s own vocalist and artist] and Daniel Fetherston, this video has it all!”
In celebration of the release, the band have released a free download of the song from their Bandcamp. Vinyl copies of the In Color record are sold out on their site, but a few copies are still available from Revolver and the album can still be bought digitally from the band.
