Spanish native and Austin, Texas transplant Diego “Bull” Avello may be a bit fed up after 20 hard-fought years of paying his dues. “I wanna swim in a money pool,” he sings with full-throated determination during the blues-based stomper “Dinero Primero.” A heavy, riff-driven manifesto of single-minded self-reliance called “One Life, One Chance” follows. “I’m a dreamer with no back-up dream,” Avello sings before cutting loose with blistering Aerosmith-meets-ZZ Top styled guitar heroics. “This Veil” is a song of perseverance and strength gained through trying times. It’s another feature for howling, gravel-etched vocals and layers of gritty electric guitar. This three song EP serves as a potent calling card for Los Búfalos’ high-octane and muscular “stubborn rock” sound, heard on stages in Europe, Mexico, and the USA alongside other axe-slingers including Ace Frehley.
