The Liverpool electro-legends Ladytron are still riding on the stratospheric waves of their latest self-titled album. It was the band’s first album in seven-and-a-half years, since the acclaimed_Gravity the Seducer_ from September 2011. The long-player released in February of this year is Ladytron’s most personal and self-recognized work to date. Within its hypnotic trance of subterfuge you will find what defines the band in the modern music spectrum. A supercharged offering of layered melodies and infectious riffs. In some ways a slow burner which has garnered momentum the further into the year we travel. Singer Helen Marnie had this to say about the album: “For us, it’s like getting together with an old friend. You’ve both changed, but still have that common ground. Familiarity crossed with excitement.”
After the recent Pledge Music debacle which rocked the enjoyment of the release for both the fans let alone Helen, Mira, Danny and Reuben. However, they have come out firing on all cylinders and have announced a new remix EP, “Far From Home – Night Versions”. Due for release on 30th August, this release features new versions of the album’s electrifying “Far From Home”.
The band have also shared one of those remixes, “Far From Home (Dave the Hustler Remix),” available as a free download from Bandcamp. The EP will also feature remixes by Lucas Frota, Hiroko Yamamura and Eric Elvambuena, Blakkat, and Wetworks. The “Dave the Hustler Remix” is a mouthwatering insight into what is on the horizon, as Ladytron emerge stylishly from a storm, and continue to push forward.
