Fronted by ex-The The/Seven Simons member Keith Joyner, he and his crew of seasoned vets—including former members of ’90s bands Revolux and Chihuahua and late ’80s group Caterwaul—weigh in with this moody, melodic post-punk six-song spin, and simply stated, it’s a great recording. Their sound pushes and pulls against a sophisticated kind of minimalistic approach, a la ’80s Wire, New Order, and dare I say, Crazy Horse, that allows the songs to unfold and breathe in both shadow and light. Really strong stuff, and worth every minute of your time! (lesbiches.net)
