Following on from last years acclaimed, and romantically compelling Chasm by The Awakening, Ashton Nyte has kept the band and his own solo momentum rolling along energetically. Just this week a further single and video were released, along with a string of tour dates commencing in the coming days as Ashton shares a stage with Wayne Hussey and Evi Vine.
The single “Back To Wonderland” is a compelling, darkly gothic track. Reminiscent of Sisters Of Mercy from well back in the day, but performed with the unique imagery that only Ashton can summon beautifully. It is one highlight from the Chasm album, with tones of an Orwellian monologue which is injected into the video. Shot in black and white, with Nyte managing to stay out of the darkness in moments to fire home his message of social commentary. In reality, both the video, and the song are wholly addictive, proving how Ashton Nyte’s talent to capture our imaginations is still flourishing.
