There were times, whole decades it seemed, when music and the people who make it lost their voice. Perhaps it was complacency, maybe they were happy with their lot, maybe they thought that writing songs about the fact that they had just been dumped or about how cool they thought they were was enough.

Forget the chattering of the political classes, just listen to the voice of the streets!
With their latest single, “Speak No Evil,” Crymwav are not just joining that growing throng; they seem to be leading the charge, shouting their frustrations from the rooftops, speaking truth to power. the natural response to what they see around them.
The natural successors to the classic rock sound, they have retooled the style for the modern age, left the raw edges on, eschewed polish for natural abrasion, and given us a perfect soundtrack to those waking up to the big-tech, big-brother, billionaire benefitting, authoritarianship that is moving over our lives at a fantastic pace.
Given that the band member’s resume cites, among others, Smash Fashion, Junkyard and The Damned as past musical pursuits, it is clear that this is a band to watch, although the song sells itself anyway long before you find out the calibre of those behind it.
Reenergized, old school, foot-on-the-monitor, fist-in-the-air, rock and roll, but with a modern mission. Woe betide any who stand in their way!
