“Out Here” is a gorgeous and effortlessly catchy slice of indie-folk-pop, a song that is an anthem to all the dreamers out there, a sonic advocate for belief, and indeed self-belief, a gentle reminder that sometimes the road is hard but there is always someone there for you, always someone to help carry the load.
In the case of Dee Dasher, this is a personal thank you to all those who urged her on, cheered from the sidelines, willed her to win, keep going, even when she thought the journey was too hard… especially when she felt it was too hard.
It’s a simple song cloaked in lovely sonics and beautiful textures, wandering piano lines, crunchy beats, shimmering synths, and her sweet, accessible, relatable voice. It’s also the perfect taste of what’s to come, and what is to come, in only a few weeks, is her debut album, Conscious Home. On the strength of this, it should be a brilliant sonic calling card, an exciting and creative mission statement, and a collection of songs that gets her talked about in all the right places.
I, for one, can’t wait.
