ENAVE - Skeletons (self-release)

30 November 2025

If there is a place where the power and punch of alternative rock meets a more dream-state creativity, which in turn is the ground zero for the collision point between classical grace and gothic grandure, then it is precisely where you find ENAVE and her latest single, “Skeletons.”

It is the sound of music made in the gap between worlds, a place where this reality overlaps and merges with another dimension, a liminal creative space that acts as a portal to…well, who really knows where. And as this sound emanates through such a doorway between the known and the unknown, it cycles through many moods and melodics, sounds and sentiments.

Lyrically, it is a journey through the idea that we all carry with us the remains of personal trauma – grief, self-destruction, hurt, depression, loss, longing – around with us, and these feelings, these “skeletons in the closet”, as the saying goes, often spill out when we least expect them to – and arm here, a leg there, a skull or a splinter of bone.

It is, at turns, punchy and powerful, poised and poignant, understated and reflective, dance-fuelled and dark, melodic yet muscular, full of sinister strings and sweeping orchestration, a sure-foot dance between rock weight and a more reserved state, a dynamic waltz between the beautiful and the brutal.

At five minutes, it is longer than your average pop and rock song, but even then, ENAVE packs so much into that space that it feels like a symphony in its own right, a suite of serpentine sonics, an alternative opera.

Okay, I’m late to the party with ENAVE, totally my fault, but on the strength of this mercurial and marvellous song, I’m going to be at the front of the queue for whatever comes next.
