FADES is an alt rock quintet from London, and set to release their new, self-titled EP, FADES. A follow up to their previous release, Falling Into Place, a largely solo product from vocalist/guitarist Joshua Woo under the name Metasic, FADES is the debut of their metamorphosis into a full-fledged band. The lead single “Breaking Through The Walls” is a strutting, flashy blast of sleazy glam, influenced by bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys.
And rarely does the band let you catch a breather. It’s pretty much relentless rock and roll all the way through, only slowing on the way out with the final track “Everybody Knows.” Even the song “Before My Eyes” tricks you. It starts softly enough with acoustic guitars before exploding into a thunderous stomp of power chords. The entire EP is a fantastic slice of chilly and sleek alt rock that will never disappoint fans of the genre. FADES is out March 11th.
