Landroid - Say My Name (Mojave Beach Records)

24 March 2026

Taken from the upcoming album, Constellation, that incorporates everything from the Gnostic creation myth of the Demiurge Yaldabaoth to a Tarantino-esque tale of gun-slinging lovers holding up a bank, it is clear that Landroid is not a band that deals with the mundane. And if their imagination can run to such universal concepts and tall tales, their music is writ on a similarly spectacular scale.

Okay, “Say My Name,” the single which precedes its summer release, is sonically punchy, not in the rock and roll sense, but then, it isn’t trying to be; instead, it is impressive, addictive and encompassing, yet subtle and cinematic; a blend of surprisingly funky bass and driving drums, washes of synth, and lush vocal textures that seem to echo the high desert of California’s Mohave, which the band now call home.

It’s a serene and sophisticated blend of dreampop and alt-dance, electro-groove and filmic finesse, running on its own internal momentum, a force of nature that seems to draw fuel from the majestic landscape around it.

Close your eyes, listen to the music, and you can’t help but picture the baked and barren stretches and distant mountains, blasted rocks and shimmering heat racing past the window of your vehicle as you head for…where? Who cares, it’s the journey that counts, not the destination! and “Say My Name” feels like one helluva ride.
