It is obvious that there is too much money in politics, billionaires run our lives, and even those seemingly decent politicians (though they are becoming an increasingly rare breed) are at the beck and call of those who funded them. It’s no secret, but what can you do about it? It’s a blatant case of the money men (and women) perpetuating the system that made them rich in the first place.
Well, if the system isn’t prepared to address its own issues of corruption, then maybe we need to turn to a band to put our thoughts and fears into words…preferably one who dresses as astronauts and who has blended gloop guitar rhythms with shiny riffs into what they brilliantly term yacht-grunge!
Yes, you heard me… yacht-grunge, and as mad as such a term might sound, one spin of “Venture Cowboys,” the new one from Mitch Rocket, tells you everything that you need to know about such a unique genre…a genre that, as far as I am aware, only contains these San Francisco sonic cosmonauts!
It may run on a raw and raucous raft of squalling guitars, but a layer of shimmering sonics and ambient sounds balances this out. These opposites not just attract but seem so locked in an infectious and vital sonic dance that you can only wonder why such a juxtaposition hasn’t been tried before.
And so, if politics is fundamentally broken, and we all agree that it is, why not vote for Mitch Rocket? After all, what’s the worst that could happen?
