Rebekah Snyder - The Fiddle Player Stays (RSB Project LLC)

13 September 2026

The best inspiration for any art comes from real-world experiences, and that is certainly true of the latest release from Rebekah Snyder. Artists poaching the best players to join their band is part of the horse-trading that goes on behind the scenes of gigging life, especially in grassroots scenes where players want to play (and earn) as much as often as they can and bands want to be the best version of themselves possible.

So when Snyder invited a great fiddle player to join her on stage one night, and a tug-of-war ensued over which band he owed his commitment to, it might not have started the biggest turf war in the history of music, but it did spark the idea for a great song. And through the lyrics and the video, the story, admittedly heightened and slightly tongue-in-cheek, is laid out before the listener.

It’s a glorious slice of traditional country music, upbeat, vibrant and, as the title suggests, a song built as much around virtuosic playing of the fiddling fugative as it is the chiming guitars and dance-inducing beats that surround it and Snyder’s mesmerising voice that dances over the top.

Part visual depiction of the narrative, part performance video, part intrigue, and part celebration of the power of great music born in the moment, ‘The Fiddle Player Stays’ has it all. Add to that the fact that this audiovisual package is also home to a groovy tune that blends classic country cool with infectious, pop-aware addictions, not to mention the perfect rhyming of the word shenanigans, which must be applauded, and is engaging and witty, and there is only one question left to answer…

What more could you ask of a video single release?
