Robin Bacior - "Man Before Me" b/w "Headless Sheep" (Consonants & Vowels)

31 March 2011

This single shows off the instrumental minimalism and versatility of folk singer-songwriter Robin Bacior. The A-side is an exercise in sustain pedal piano. The result is a pretty version of something Neil Young might have come up with. The keys sound as if from out of a saloon with Bacior’s slightly yodeling voice pleasantly harmonized over the top. The B-side has a foundation of lightly picked electric guitar with the same dual harmonies. These are just honest to goodness songs without all the bells and whistles. “Man Before Me,” is a single that that revels and succeeds with its minimalism and honesty.
