Schkeuditzer Kreuz – Keep Dancing (remix) (self-released)

5 June 2026

Even if you can’t make out the vocals, which are both minimal and obscured beneath the raw, abrasive sonics and the industrial, delirious dance deluge, the super-charged beats and the brain-throbbing intensity, “Keep Dancing” feels like an act of rebellion.

Which is as it should be, because it is a track driven by an ethic that we have lost along the way, that of sticking up for what you feel is right and sticking up for those who can’t do so for themselves; essentially, a song about unity, compassion, empathy and honesty. And have we ever needed those qualities more than we do right now?

But even if you don’t dig that deep, even if you are just here for the music, then even that is gloriously breathtaking. Guitars are a rarity on a Schkeuditzer Kreuz track, but here they scald and scathe, rip and roar over the sort of beat that made Sigue Sigue Sputnik or even KMFDM seem like they were only ever in second gear! Intense is the word!

And if intense is the word for “Keep Dancing” then god only knows what word we need for its sonic travelling companion, “Poor Impulse Control” a song that takes the creative ethic of the A-side and pushes it in all directions, so that it is at sometimes spacious, other times squalling, often metallic sounding, occassionally demonic, groovesome but if you want to dance to it, challanging and brilliantly off-kilter.

Although both tracks are lifted from the recent album Swan Grinder, these remixes are the (un)natural continuation of those initial sounds. I guess sometimes, even when you feel you have reached the finish line, there is always somewhere or something new, more distant, to make your goal.
