Seasonal Falls - Fun Crumbles (self-released)

14 October 2025

In the past, I have associated Seasonal Falls with a particular sound, a specific style, a certain vibe. Theirs was a world of calm and quiet contemplation, of gentle indie-folk vibes and feelings solitude, and the beauty of the natural world. And whilst the themes of many of the songs found on their latest EP, Fun Crumbles are still slightly whistul, reflective even, their guitar arm and drum beats certainly arn’t

As the band themselves put it, “…it simply felt right to crank the amps a bit, hit the drums a bit harder and just have fun with it.” and that is where we find them on this five-song collection, making music that is fun.

Pushing into a more familiar, slightly nostalgic, indie sound, they balance pop contagion with a college rock cool, instant riffs with raw sonics, energy with euphoria, an underground vibe with an overground accessibility.

“I Should Be Said But I Am Not” is the hookiest thing you will have heard in a long time, “A Year Without Beer” feels like a long lost Neil Young song polished up for a modern, indie audience, and if I told you that “Australia” was The Go-Betweens biggest hit back in the day, most of you wouldn’t put up too much of an argument.

I loved Seasonal Falls earlier sound, the deftness and the delicacy, the smart sonic choices, and the great lyrics. Here, they retain all of those touches and sensibilities and use them to drive a bigger and more infectious sound. And, for that, I love them even more.
