We’ve all been there…” go on then, just one more” knowing that the “one more” drink is the start of many more, it’s the feeling of the first domino falling, the point where the primal thirst over-rides the logical brain. Yes, most of us have been there, knowing that you are no longer in control, that we are opening ourselves up to possibilities and perhaps problems, and that the morning will be one of half-memories, regret, hangovers, and a mental note not to do it again. A mental note that will, almost certainly, be ignored.
Yes, we have all been there, but most of us don’t write a killer tune about it.
Sleeping Together give us another single from their EP _ I Won’t Tell If You Don’t,_ and again, it is a blistering slice of classic sounding indie, reminiscent in sonic style and lyrical deftness of the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian or The Killers.
Guitars grind out energetic riffs, drums pound, bass lines drive everything along, and Alexander Lloyd-Jones vocal deliveries suggest he was born to the role of indie narrator.
Reminiscent of the early 2000s indie at its finest, but also the spark that could usher in a return to such sonic halcyon days? Could this be the band that kicks off another golden age? You never know. No pressure, guys.
