Transcendecadence - Tiny Stupid Song (self-released)

17 May 2026

Where is life taking me? Have I missed my chances? Am I getting left behind? Have I done it all wrong? Or, in the words of none other than Frank Sinatra himself…“regrets, I’ve had a few.” These are all the questions running through the head of the protagonist being described in “Tiny Stupid Song.” It’s the sound of a midlife crisis turned into a recognizable soundtrack for those who have been pushing the limits a bit too much for a bit too long.

We have all been there. We see our youthful years stretching off into the past; the future looks uncertain. We look down on everyone, especially the next generation who are taking our place, partying harder, acting wilder, living life to the full… just as we did a few years ago. What does it all mean, and what does the next chapter of our life look like? It’s scary stuff until you realize that what lies before you is an open book and you are the one who gets to write it. So get writing… in whatever font, style, or color of ink you choose!

Set to a suitably dark and decadent sound, a clash of PJ Harvey’s unbridled imagination and Queen of the Stone Age’s unrelenting drive, it is at turns groovesome and rocky and psychedelically off-beat and brilliantly accessible in that Trojan Horse way that the best outlier songs manage to sneak past the gatekeepers and into the consciousness of the discerning music fans.

Not only a great slice of alt-rock meets post-punkery, old musical rituals turned into modern anthems, but also brilliantly self-deprecating: “just a tiny stupid song that you wished for, it’s about nothing at all.”

That may be true, but it is still the best 4 minutes and 20 seconds of nothing I have ever experienced!
