After hearing some absolutely stellar releases from bands like Superyob, London Diehards and T.H.U.G. (none of which appear on any of these volumes for some reason), I thought I’d see what else oi/streetpunk has to offer. As I should have guessed, I was already keen to the finest bands from the genre, as very few of these bands come anywhere close to the brilliance of the aforementioned artists. Interestingly, it’s the female-fronted bands, Australia’s Stranglehold and especially Santa Cruz, CA’s Custom Fit that stand out the most. Veterans Crashed Out also offer a killer track, as well as Razorcut and Bad Co. Project, though overall, it’s just kind of dull and not all that impressive. That’s me, though. If you’re really into this stuff, you’re gonna love every second.
