David Musto: October 7, 2012

Even with my last Top Ten a month old, I was totally stuck in Mould mode. Lots of M’s…

  1. Godspeed You! Black Emperor‘Allelujah! Don’t Bend! Ascend! (Constellation)

Got a very lucky preview of this album and all I can say right now is that it was even better than expected. Full review to come…

  2. Ringo DeathstarrMauve (Club AC30)

Another excellent effort, check out my review for more deets.

  3. NonesHoZac Hookup Klub 7” (HoZac)

These folks are fun as hell.

  4. Slug GutsPlayin’ In Time With the Deadbeat (Sacred Bones)

These guys were on the same bill with Nones last week and, dammit, I would have liked to have been there.

  5. Cyndi LauperShe’s So Unusual (Portrait)

This is still great and I’m not ashamed to admit that I think so.

Also, anyone who grew up in this time and says they don’t like this song is probably a liar.

  6. The TinsLife’s A Gas (Self-Released)

    Check my review for info.

  7. A.C. Newman – “I’m Not Talking” (Matador)

I am not enamored with the album but I am obsessed with this song from the upcoming Shut Down The Streets.

  8. Iggy Pop & James WilliamsonKill City (Bomp)

I like this record more every time I leave it for a few years and come back to it. BT scribe Michael Toland wrote a bit on this re-issue when it came out.

  9. That Mitchell And Webb Look (BBC Two)

I have become bored with most American TV, so I’ve been scamming across the pond. There, I found the only sketch comedy show I have liked in 20 years, from the stars of the sitcom Peep Show.

  10. Sherlock (BBC One)

I’ve always thought the non-literary versions of Sherlock Holmes were kinda lame. This one is brilliant. CBS decided to make their own likely sad version.
