   This new video features spare, black & white shots of NYC decadence with just the right amount of emotional depth. Reminds me a bit of The Sisters of Mercy’s “Detonation Boulevard.”

2. Lordi – “Hard Rock Hallelujah”
   Gwar rip-offs win the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with this thunderous, evil anthem. The video= features monster cheerleaders!
3. D – “Yami Yori Kurai…”

   Gothic opulence inside a ballroom from this Japanese VK band. Nothing particularly new, but the music is something to behold.

4. Exotic Birds

   Trent Reznor’s first synthpop band. Watch him toss his fluffy new wave mane!

5. Heavy Trash – “Dark Hair’d Rider”

   Goofy, body-part-switching fun in this video for Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray’s current rockabilly project.

6. DAF – “Der Mussolini”

   Great sound and one unhinged performance by Gabi Delgado. Watch.

7. Southern Death Cult – “Faith”

   Live from The Tube. Ian Astbury couldn’t be a day over 20 and his crimped Mohican deathrock look is too cute.

8. Hawksley Workman – “Striptease”

   I could listen to the song on repeat for days. The video is OK, but far less entertaining.

9. TSOL – “Perfect Day”

   Video was shot live at The Vault.

10. Laibach – “Tanz Mit Laibach”

    Ok, this video is not from YouTube, but its been my favorite for so long I had to give it some props. Futurist kittens, unite!
