Craig Klein, formerly the main songwriter for Chicago-located art-rockers The Race (and founder of techno project Down There), returns to the music fore as Ohr.
Klein will be releasing his debut album as Ohr, the double LP Walk Into The Light, on September 10th.
A move to Seattle in 2014 was fraught with personal struggles for Klein, and he used his songwriting as means of therapy for his issues with depression and anxiety.
It’s been a long journey for Klein, but he’s finally unveiling his soulful and heartfelt opus that charts his pathway through life so far; one full of challenges, but also one of hope, promise, and even fulfillment with the release of this record.
Walk Into The Light was written and produced by Klein, and he supplied vocals and almost all of the instruments on the 17-track album.
Big Takeover is pleased to host the premiere of the visually trippy performance music video for the psychedelic and flowing “Level Up.”
Retro-‘60s pop melds with ambient synth loops and hypnotizing vocals, taking listeners to another mindset and dimension.
In the visually kaleidoscopic video Klein plays guitar and sings, as well as grooves along to the music, inviting the viewer to dance along to the engaging number.
Klein comments on the song, stating, ““Level Up” is track twelve from the double album Walk In The Light and is about stepping out of day-to-day reality and losing yourself in the moment. The track channels the late ’80s Factory Records / Hacienda vibration and the sound of the Stones sucking in the ’70s. Video made by Ohr!”
A special record release show is planned at Seattle’s Headstate Records with special guests on September 25th.
