Initially a solo project helmed by Brooklyn-based writer and musician Benedict Kupstas, Field Guides grew to include a rotating lineup of a dozen or so musicians during the decade it took to bring to fruition the band’s debut album, Boo, Forever. The time and effort was clearly worth it; this is a gorgeous piece of work. Sprawling, dense, and mysterious, Boo, Forever doesn’t so much play as much as unfurls, blossoms into a strange and beautiful flower. Can you tell we love it? Listen, please.
