Ottawa, Canada-based purveyors of primal rock, Onionface claim their name is not something easily forgotten, but it’s their wily tunes that truly leave a lasting impression. Their music has a punk quality about but is played and recorded with impeccable taste. Standout tracks like “Birdman” are so fraught with unpretentious singalong goodness, that one is shocked to hear it hasn’t been licensed as the soundtrack to some subversive comic book.

Onionface’s LP, Roll Over, Dog… And Run!, is an excellent and concise 10-song gut-punch of a debut, packed with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, unchained rhythms, and sidewinding riffs.
