Acclaimed alt-rock singer-songwriter and producer Andrew Adkins announces new album Superior Vena Cava and new single “A Revolver In The Field.” The single is the second new single from the much-anticipated album, which is due out on September 12 on all major music streaming platforms. Superior Vena Cava is the follow-up to 2022’s Rattlesnake Motions.
The premiere single was written, produced, and performed entirely by Adkins in his home studio in Nashville. The song is inspired by the 2018 Robert Redford movie, The Old Man & the Gun.
Explains Adkins,
“I just got out of a long-term relationship, and I saw the film. I picked up my guitar after watching it, and the song just found its way out of my head. The whole thing—chorus, verses, instrumentals all came pouring out in around 20-30 minutes. I was moved by the film and was still sorting through the emotions of my recent breakup. Sometimes when it rains, it pours.”
A respected figure in Nashville’s underground rock scene, Andrew Adkins has spent over a decade shaping a sound that defies trends. His music has appeared in films and shows from Netflix, Lionsgate, CBS, Paramount+, and more, and he’s shared concert bills with notable artists such as Sturgill Simpson, Lainey Wilson, Cage the Elephant, and Billy Joe Shaver.
“A Revolver In The Field” is available August 8 on all major streaming platforms.
