“I enjoy when musicians know when not to play,” said Michael J. Hall, the man behind Frankfort, Indiana’s Mucklo. “I think its an invaluable skill to have that develops from listening wholly.”
Hall, who performed and recorded this track at home, draws influences from artists like Elliott Smith, Beck, author Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and Alain Johannes (Eleven”, *Queens of the Stone Age) and genres including lo-fi, chillwave, progressive rock and psych-rock.
This tantalizing track, from Mucklo’s upcoming debut, Personas, emerges from a loopy goo with a head-bopping, bass-driven, slacker-psych groove. Hall’s lo-fi love is evident — we bet this would sound even better on cassette!
