Son Step is a Philadelphia-based collaboration comprised of twin brothers Jon and Chris Coyle (vocals/synthesizers and bass), Joel Gleiser (vocals/electronics), and Matt Scarano (percussion). Formed in 2010, Son Step has crafted a dense, danceable, experimental pop sound with idiosyncratic harmonies, odd loops, found sounds, and raucous drums.

“‘Somehow’ was written by our bassist Chris, and it features our friend John Swana on EVI (Electric Valve Instrument), who is an stalwart of the improv/jazz/ambient scene in Philadelphia,” said Jon Coyle of this exclusive track from the band’s brand-new LP, Natural Majique. “This tune is about outer space crying, among other things. We used some samples of planets, dolphins, and other natural sources. We tried to take this one down deep.”
