You have to love a song with an unconventional and offbeat title. But if Ian Vargo’s latest single has a fairly unwieldy moniker, the song itself is nothing but instantly infectious, a quirky pop-rock groover that will have you singing along and dancing around to its eloquent charms before the first chorus has even played out.
And as its sassy guitar lines and anthemic poppery play out, driving onwards and carrying the listener with it, it delivers a very poignant piece of philosophy. One day, Vargo was playing his guitar, and the sound it offered up was not what he expected; it was, for want of a better term “a little fucked up.” Instead of getting frustrated with the errant sound, he embraced this unscheduled development. This, in turn, got him thinking about how ot is the imperfections of life that keep it interesting, and so this anthem to celebrating the unexpected was born.
Vive la différence is the message here; there is more fun to be had by rolling with life’s quirks than there is by just expecting the same old, same old. Comfort zones, be damed!
A great song, of course, one that makes the most of that collision point where rock drive, indie sass, and pop contagion meet, but also the perfect mantra to enjoying life to the fullest.
Embrace life’s flaws and hit the dancefloor!
