India Tigers in Texas - Dose (Geodesic Records)

16 March 2026

On their second full-length album Dose, Galveston psych-garage outfit India Tigers in Texas lean fully into unpredictability, delivering a record that unfolds as a fluid, ever-shifting experience. Built from a hybrid process, with some tracks shaped through live performance and others emerging spontaneously in the studio, the album thrives on the tension between control and chaos. That push and pull gives Dose its pulse.

From the very beginning introduction of “Loading…”, the band favors flow over structure, with tracks bleeding into one another in a way that rewards front-to-back listening. “Another Castle,” with its playful nods to retro gaming, stands out as a moment of levity, but it fits naturally within the album’s restless energy. Across the record, references to history, psychedelics, and life on the road collide in dense, fuzz-heavy arrangements that rarely settle.

Sonically, Dose draws from familiar psych rock touchstones without feeling pinned to them, and although there are similarities to newer acts like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, India Tigers in Texas carve out their own identity by exploring themes and influences less present in the genre.

Dose is not built around individual standout tracks, and it does not cater to passive listening. It asks for attention and a willingness to follow its twists. For those open to it, the result is a rich and absorbing listen that captures a band fully committed to its own wavelength.
