Ofir Sandler - too much (self-released)

23 October 2025

Blending the bright pop vocals of the likes of Lily Allen (only without the feigned mockney accent, the dropped H’s, and the annoying glottal stops) with the driving beat of an eastern Mediterranean gypsy dance-folk troupe, “too much” is the perfect example of the sort of cultural sonic clash that keeps music moving forward.

Ofir Sandler’s music in general, and this latest single in particular, is undoubtedly the sound of modern, western, chart-bound, pop-infused indie, but there are just some beautiful musical touches, a few beguiling musical motifs, that will inform the keen-eared listener of the broader sonic palette that she gets to draw from.

It is also a song that gives reassurance to all of us adults, no matter what age, who find it hard to, well, adult! As she deftly points out, most of us don’t know when to stop or where to start, or how to avoid overthinking or underperforming. She uses humor and self-criticism as a mirror for us to gaze into, and to remind us that most of us are just making things up as we go along.

Ofir Sandler has that rare quality: the ability to write clever pop songs and dress them in more sophisticated sounds, often drawn from the indie and rock arenas. And it is this blend of energy and articulation, groove and sophistication, which gives her music such a broad appeal.
