Social Gravy - Get Away (self-released)

25 April 2026

The second single from the forthcoming The Pebble EP, “Get Away,” finds Social Gravy leaning confidently into their self-described role as “romantic rock ‘n’ rollers.” And if rock’ n’ roll has always been about escapism, longing, and stepping outside the confines of the everyday, then this track shows that they not only have an understanding of the history of their chosen genre but also know that they are in good company. There has always been something attractive about those who seem not to conform to society, who are restless and follow their dreams. “Get Away,” in its most obvious guise, is about wanting to know what lies over the hill, of wishing to find out if the grass is greener.

At its heart, this is unmistakably rock music—but it neatly swerves all the obvious cliches, and within the brooding basslines, the low-slung six-string drives and pummelling drums, there is also a sense of finesse, and in its own way, gritty sophistication. The band laces their sound with deft touches and an infectious energy that elevates it beyond mere volume and velocity.

There’s a number of fine lines being walked here, and walked to perfection, one that runs between grit and groove, urgency and accessibility, muscle and melody, resulting in a track that feels both immediate and considered, urgent, anticipatory even, capable of resonating with underground audiences while clearly aiming for more commercial climes

“Get Away” is a perfectly balanced song, never losing its edge in pursuit of accessibility, nor does it disappear into the self-indulgent ornateness of a band that doesn’t understand what makes rock music tick. The rock fraternity will love it, sure, but there is clearly a bigger prize being eyed up. And why not?
