The Children are the future, and by “children” I mean this Swans offshoot comprised of Michael Wiener, Jim Coleman, and Phil Puleo. These musicians have created a strange world to entrap you. Heavy mellow and discordant, The Children weave mysterious tales, singing with a cracked Waitsian drawl and pushing rhythms through ancient shadows. Bringing members of Cop Shoot Cop and Swans together to create this art is a truly wonderful thing. At times minimalistic, others overflowing with noise, but always interesting, compelling, uncomfortable, and aware.
