“I’m in Mississippi. I’ve heard Bach was nearly unperformed for 100 years after his death. I occasionally gig as a keyboardist in a blues/rock/original outfit based in Ohio. This release is an old tune written as a birthday present; it was hoping for a happy future, living in a dream. I bought a mic on Facebook and started home recordings for fun. It feels like painting, a creative outlet, the sounds are colors and textures, and I enjoy seeing what they come together to make. I think music, and art should stand alone, separated from their creators. Although I’m guilty of reading bios in Itunes music.”

Amid the muggy, swamped-out summer of ’23, synapses ablaze, starved and horrified by the mindless pop rock craze, with an insatiable hunger for honest straight to tape, no jape, rock n roll, Anthmz began to take shape. Forged by two lurking leviathans of the southern shadow scene, Houston B. Perry III (The Blood Plums, Heavy Mojo) and Kyle Gordon (MammaBear) decided to intervene, embarking on a devil-may-care songwriting bender blending elements from The British Invasion, garage funk and kaleidoscopic punk for punks without a uniform.
The quest for love can feel neverending. In Anna Josephine’s latest single, “Take My,” she captures that relentless pursuit of unrequited love. Her lyrics speak of molding herself and her habits in order to fit the taste of someone else, losing herself in the process. The instrumentation, influenced heavily by the wild western sounds of Ennio Morricone, help tell this story of a grueling journey.
At his catchiest, as we know, Steve Alex writes tunes that are impossible to resist singing along with. But, where the band that we usually find him fronting,Four Star Riot, leans into the guitar bombast of the alterna-rock boom, Never Heavy showcases Alex as an introspective artist just as comfortable channeling the likes of Elliot Smith, Mac DeMarco and Fruit Bats as he is drawing from Smashing Pumpkins and STP.

Located in Northwest England, Dylan Mundy fuses elements of folk, indie and electronica. This self-reflective artist takes a poetic look at the seemingly ever-greying world we inhabit. He is the town crier of the manic melancholia of the 21st century with a mantra of, “If we’re going down with the ship, we might as well have a boogie while we sink.” More placebo to the times than an antidote, he continues to cast his thoughts into the endless
digital ether.

Though Stephen lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, his family hails from New Orleans and New York. His Italian grandfather was a multi-instrumentalist during the roaring 20s and an aunt on the French side of his family was a fabulous blues singer. His music was influenced by great rock and punk bands heard throughout the mid-Atlantic in his 20s and 30s, as well as by a good friend — a Beatles fan — who introduced him to his first chords on an acoustic guitar at age 16. Stephen currently writes all of his music and performs in the Charlottesville, Virginia, area.

Started in 2018, this creative project started by singer and guitarist Luke Thornton grew over time into a full group, starting with bassist Sam Pena, drummer Harry Dulaney and then joined by keyboardist Irving Molefe and guitarist John Burns. Combining lush atmospheres and psychedelic pop, they started playing shows all over Atlanta’s music scene.
Priced Out is a new punk band from Vancouver, releasing a debut ep “Four Songs”. These songs were written out of frustration and desperation at seeing how easily people tend to punch down and ignore their own best interests in the process. We are told to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps (which is a poor analogy, because that’s actually impossible), when what people really need is more opportunity. More support. More empathy. Instead, we get platitudes and entitlement from our leaders, who close doors instead of opening them. These songs are about being really damn angry about that.
Hailing from Toronto, has been a steady presence in the city’s thriving music scene for nearly a decade – no easy feat for any indie rock band. Their staying power is the result of a steadfast focus on their collective obsession: creating music with meaning.

Flavoured with raspy vocals, brassy horns, a soul sister chorus, and stylish bluesy instrumentation, “Love and Devotion” is an anthem to rally together behind in our divisive times. The song asks what happened to the compassion and civility we used to treat each other with in a call for peace between neighbours. Endlessly catching and moving, Love and Devotion is a balm of cool reflection in these heated times.

‘Forget What I Said’ is a dynamic post rock track alternately featuring melancholic delayed guitars and solemn organs mixed with swelling amp feedback and screaming vintage 70s keyboards. The song is both quiet and introspective and loud and intense. Both sides of the song share the same sad feelings of regret.
Sonny’s humble approach to the songwriting process is taken and incorporated into daily life. It is used as a tool to escape the often mundane and remedial daily tasks but also as a first aid kit for life’s trials and tribulations. With over half a lifetime of writing, noodling, doodling, and performing, it is time to share.

The production quality of the average ECM release would sound great coming from a TDK cassette – on pristine vinyl it sounds as incredible as it does on CD, and in nice, full-size jackets to boot.

London rock band The Hinterland release their latest single,’Biology’, on July 19th, the fourth single from their upcoming debut album, out in August. ‘Biology’ is a modern rock take on the timeless melody and harmonies of bands like Crowded House and Fleetwood Mac. Written, produced and mixed by Oliver Bailey (keyboards, guitar and bass), it portrays love and desire as an animal instinct that won’t be tamed, a sometimes self-destructive force that can’t be controlled. The song was recorded at Kore Studios in London and the band’s own studio.
Club Silencio is a modern rock band from Canada. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Teenage Fanclub, The Strokes, and MGMT for their minimalist yet driving use of rhythm, infectious vocal harmony and melodies over heavily distorted guitar leads and rolling arpeggios. Despite having no label representation, their debut album The Silent Answer attracted international attention from official Spotify playlist curators and social media icons such as Emma Chamberlain. Club Silencio’s most recent single “Real Estate” (released fall of 2023) marked a poignant return for the band and a shift from their previously atmospheric sound to a fresh, lyrically observational, instrumentally tight and taut version of power-pop.
HATS™ is a chameleon. Crafting dreamy soundscapes for weary souls. A bittersweet chorus of vocals slice through strange synthy songstories to weave blankets of sound for your soul. Their musical roots go back to their initial band, Vienna Ditto, where they sang bluesy riffs over rockabilly guitar. They’ve grown up now and branched out alone. Inspired by ANOHNI, Radiohead, and Kate Bush, HATS™ is unfurling leaves of musical tenderness, escalating tension and genre shapeshifting.
The James Warner Prophecies are a 3 piece band who play music with rocks in. They’ve done lots of cool stuff, most of which they cannot remember! But this includes winning UK Rock Music awards, writing and performing compositions with orchestras on the steps of Wayne Manor….. (yes, really!), and they have vomited into bins mid-solo. They have entertained crowds of thousands with arse trembling live performances, and also to Dave and his dog down your local while he nurses a pint of mild, increasingly irritated by their sonic intrusion. Dave did not buy a cd. Dave went home. They are still here. They are currently working on a new album. They still regret the name. They are a little bit like a rash but the cream will not help. And they are pleased to meet you
The combo of performing expertise and melodic feel might well break the brain of a well-rounded picker, but just as easily speaks to the heart of the non-musician.
“Children in the Trees” is the new single drop by Alt-Rock and Psychedelic band Pretend Collective. The band is renowned for its highly conceptual lyrics, eclectic arrangements, and masterful performances by both instrumentalists and singers.
