When the band learned that an Afghan Whig had a recording studio 45 minutes from where they currently resided, that was all the impetus they needed to lock in 5 days of studio time in New Orleans’ Marigny Studios in January of 2024. Pandemic Blues is a new album by the Finnish rock band Buko Shane, released on Long Lake Studio (LLS09) on August 1st 2024. The band is known for their electrified Americana-influenced experimental rock music, but on this release, a more acoustic and minimalistic singer-songwriter approach is chosen. Most of the songs feature only vocals, acoustic guitars and one or two other instruments. Pandemic Blues is written and recorded during and after COVID. The music is inspired by the feelings, moods and experiences during these four long and crazy years, since the beginning of the pandemic.
